I’m currently planning our itinerary for an upcoming trip to Aruba and trying to figure out the smoothest way to handle our arrival logistics at Best Car Hire at Queen Beatrix Airport. We definitely want to rent a vehicle to explore the island at our own pace, but I’ve read that the terminal counters can get incredibly congested when multiple international flights land at the same time.

I want to avoid spending our first afternoon standing in long administrative lines. I’ve been looking into digital-first platforms like Finalrentals Aruba that let you handle your paperwork, ID verification, and contract signatures online beforehand.

For anyone who has been out there recently: does pre-arranging everything online actually let you bypass the main terminal queues entirely, or do you still experience bottlenecks at the staging areas?

Also, since we want to keep an eye on our budget but still need absolute price transparency (no surprise local fees at the counter), I’d love to know which vehicle class you recommend. Is a standard economy sedan enough for basic spot-to-spot driving, or is it better to step up to a mid-size SUV if we decide to head out toward the rugged coastal areas?
